One: Updates

Since it's been all about the party, I've neglected to update on Nora herself...

As of April 5th, she weighs 22 pounds and is 29 1/2 inches tall.  She was just above average in her weight, height, and milestones.  I think she is a little behind in communication, but she is learning quickly these days.  Just in the last week she's learned to blow kisses, "sing" when I sing to her, and become my little copy cat.  If I make a noise she tries to make it too.

For her birthday, she got that fancy slide/swing set.  Well, 2 days later we went to Moes and she mastered climbing up the slide (a 2-3 times longer one) and sliding down on her own.  She's a climber!

Going up...

Almost there...

Made it!

Going down...

Weee!

These are just to show how big Nora's getting!  I can't believe it!
Her legs are so long now!
Her favorite climbing spot...

The first few days of being ONE included a few new things...
Like whole french fries and chicken nuggets...

And scrambled eggs (which she LOVES)...

Oh and ya know, just a little hail storm after her birthday party.  This little storm has indented our roof, torn shingles, hammered my car into a golf ball wanna-be, and knocked off parts of our siding.  Not to mention everyone else's.  This picture was my mom's front yard.  The hail there got to just a little bigger than golf balls.

And finally, her first KID'S MEAL at a restaurant!  Nothing like a scrambled egg & biscuits from Cracker Barrel.

PS-Since it's taken me weeks to finally add the pictures and get this post published, I'll add a few more things.

She can :

  • run from me
  • play peek-a-boo (well if covering her cheeks counts)
  • eat a banana by herself, taking bites (She loves this)
  • climb onto the couch and our bed by herself (the first time I found a pillow moved up to the couch with an imprint from her foot...clever climber)
  • bite HARD (don't put your fingers in her mouth)
  • text and call anyone in my phone (sorry if it happens to you)
  • enjoy kiwis & egg salad (just not plain hard boiled eggs)
  • drink only cows milk, juice, & water (no formula)
  • use only sippy cups or cups with straws (no bottles)
  • sleep without a pacifier (hooray & it wasn't near as bad as I thought it'd be)

Yay for growing into a big girl!!

O-N-E!

That's right...Nora's ONE!  We are SOO excited!  This girl gets better every day.  She is amazing to watch her learn and grow.  I am not sad that she is growing up...I absolutely LOVE it!  While I do miss her sweetness of a newborn and her snuggliness (because she had no choice) some times, I fully embrace her growing up.  I love that we get to play now.  I love how independent and curious she is.  I do not mind cleaning up the contents of her dresser every. single. day. because I am so happy that she can do all of that.  I love our days together when it's just Nora and Mommy.  She is my little girl and I couldn't ask for more!  Aaron & I are so blessed to have her in our family and give thanks for her every day.

Here's Nora's birthday in pictures:

Good Morning to the birthday girl!  She had a special out fit for the day, thanks to Meredith.  I couldn't get a good picture of her holding still to show the outfit, but it has lots of necklaces and bling all about being 1 or birthday things.
Birthday girl all ready for the day

In the morning, we worked in the yard.  Yes, I mowed the lawn again.  Nora hung out in her stroller and we moved her along with us while we worked.  Sorry the pictures aren't turning today on Blogger.
This girl loves outside!

Gpa & GViv visited.  (My Dad & Stepmom)  Nora got all kinds of FABULOUS things!
Like a camo outfit (head to toe).  More pictures to come. =)
Then, I think her dreams came true...she got something to play with outside.  She LOVES it!  She became a master at climbing up the slide and up the rock climb part almost immediately.  She just smiles and smiles playing on it!
Cheesin' it as she climbs up the slide.

Her new play thing has a slide and a swing together.  She sure likes the swing, too.

I'd say she had a GREAT day!!
